Our project focuses on the Lionfish

The lionfish is just one example of an invasive species that has taken over an area where it does not naturally belong. Our team wants to encourage people to not release "pets" into the wild. Since lionfish are not native to Atlantic waters, they have very few predators here. This disrupts the balance of the ecosystem, affects native fish populations and commercial fishing industries.
Currently, scientists are involved in ways to remove lionfish. The Alpha Bots are presenting a way to transfer the fish back to its native area without harming it.
